Host a Training

What is a Spa Provider Training?

Holders of a Spa Provider certificate are authorized to provide Watsu sessions to the clients of spas, clinics and sports clubs. Watsu Providers cannot provide private Watsu sessions. Those being registered as a Watsu Provider acknowledge that their status is that of an intern and requires an annual renewal with 50 hours of continuing education until they complete all requirements to be registered as a Watsu Practitioner through WABA. A Watsu Provider is registered in WABA just like other Watsu Practitioners.

Why host a training?

The best reason to host a training is to provide your instructors and staff with quality continuing education AT YOUR FACILITY for a fraction of the cost of attending a conference or off-site training. In addition to the savings, you and your staff get to train together in a familiar environment AND you can customize the course content to meet your specific needs and goals.

What are the benefits?

  • Renew your enthusiasm and motivation.
  • Improve your bodywork and become a better practitioner.
  • Learn new aquatic bodywork techniques.

What does it take to be a “HOST”?

When you “host” a Training Workshop you and your facility assume the role of workshop organizer and host facility. You hire Minakshi to provide the educational content. You provide the facility, promote the event, accept registrations and collect all registration fees from attendees.

What are the costs?

The week long workshop (50 hour) minimum fee is $3,000 (plus expenses) and an additional $500 per student after the minimum number of 6.

The week end workshop (16 hours) minimum fee is $1,000 (plus expenses) and an additional $200 per student after the minimum number of 6.

These fee includes all course materials, registration with the Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association (WABA) and a certificate of completion for up to 12 participants. Our workshops offer Continuing Education Credits from NCBTMB and/or Florida Board of Massage Therapy.

The other costs are travel (airfare) and lodging (hotel) expenses for the presenter. Please plan on anywhere between $350 to $500 for airfare and a minimum of six nights lodging for the week-long class. There can also be costs for ground transportation to and from the airport and the facility but often the host (you) can provide transportation for the presenter. Shuttle from the Keys to Miami airport is $75 each way.
